ASL Project

I’ve always wanted to learn American Sign Language (ASL) but it isn't offered at my school, so I researched programs I could do and found an online course through Berkshire Community College. At the beginning of my Senior year I petitioned the administration and was granted special permission to do an independent study program with the support of an advisor for school credit. 

In addition to learning ASL, I’ll also be teaching it. I’m using my new skill to teach a class of preschoolers in the Southern Berkshire school district during the second part of my independent study. I’ll be teaching them some simple everyday terms and how to spell their names.
